Strict Theme FAQ

arood:

Hello! I’ve gotten a lot of questions about my Strict theme recently, so I think it’s time for me to make some kind of post where I answer most of the frequently asked questions.

I really love all your feedback, but because of personal reasons I don’t have the motivation that’s required to respond properly to every question I get, even if I want to. I’m so sorry for this.

But let get this thing started!

thebentbean asked: How do I modify the description on the right hand side of a photo, which says "A nice image"?

You’ll have to modify it manually via “Edit HTML” for now. I’m planning on making this customizable in a future update, but I don’t know the ETA for that.

To celebrate 100,000 installs I’ve updated the theme with some new features, which some of them were frequently requested. You can…
…now choose to not crop the logo text.
…replace the header text.
…upload an image to use as a logo.
…upload an image to use as a background image.
…change the font.
Custom CSS is still supported of course, which might be needed if you would like to change background positioning or similar.
Have fun!

Okay, so this is the Strict theme for Tumblr-powered tumblelogs. I was planning on releasing this a long time ago but I was too lazy or something. You can use the theme in your personal tumblelog or in a group, you can change the size easily with some Custom CSS (see the previous post) and change all the colors if you want to.

Since I’ve only drunk one cup of coffee today it probably contains a lot of bugs, feel free to mail me or make a reblog if you want to help improving the theme!

If you want to make Strict larger, so you can use for instance 500 pixels wide images and videos instead of 400 pixels, you can do this easily just by changing the font-size!

Just go to the Advanced-tab when you’re customizing your tumblelog and paste the following code in the Custom CSS-box:

body { font-size: 78.1%; }

After that, you have to find and replace {PhotoURL-400} with {PhotoURL-500} and {Video-400} with {Video-500}.

So how does this work? The whole theme is based on the em unit, which makes the whole website change itself when the main font-size is changed. Cool, aight?

This is simply awesome.
